Who can help with details on the German gun using this calibre shell case and a drawing of the shell?
Much appreciated.

a photo would be interesting, a friend of me maybe has the same cartridge case. I guess it is a german 76,2x385R case for captured russian field guns...

Hello

I think it is a FLAK gun . (not 77mm but 76,2 mm).

76,2 mm x 385 mm .

Drawning, pictures , ammunitions .. etc .. in the two big books :
flak vol 1 and flak vol 2 of Bernard Delsert,J.J Dubois and Christian Kowal.

flak vol 1 :

It seems that these books answer most of my questions (see also my
query with regard to 88 x 563R). Books have meanwhile been ordered.
Thanks.

the captured russian field guns where converted to close range field guns (for infantry use) and also to anti-aircraft guns... Both are based on the same russian barrel. The russians also used the same case in their modernized guns of 2nd WW.

yes definitely for these two guns... I find it really interesting, that they also copied the russian primer screw... You can see attached a picture of the same case of russian manufacture from 1936.

What would have been the German designation for this particular gun during WW1? Any clues?

Sehr interessant !!!
