Hi Phil,
there were test series for the .50BMG-AP with different cores for the bullet.
One of those had a pink/black or pink bullet tip. core was made of
molybdenum-chromium-nickel.
BUT . . these test were done by Frankfort Arsenal and specimens known
have headstamps FA 44. not SL.
Could your be "home-made" by somebody ?? Also compared to the tracer,
the pink tip is pretty big
cheers

thank you for this answer.
I don't know the story of this catridge. I just know that my specimen has been found in the years 1971-72 in Grand duché de Luxembourg. The people that had found it say's me that it was given by a farmer.
I know that a collector in south of france have an other specimen. The headstamp of his specimen is SL 43 too.
It seems that a serie of this cartridge has been product with headstamps SL 43 (there are 2 specimens in europe and one in the USA ).
Do you have informations ( like web links, books,... where i may find more details about this kind of cartridges)
cheers

Hi Phil,
in another forum I was told that this is an "ordinary" tracer bullet.
The colour wasn't 100% right, but in 1943 they had other problems
