Can you check it for any markings?
Was ist blue or olive somewhen?
Can you post an image of the base?

Could be a 76mm HESH of british origin for the Scorpion tank.
But need furteher details.

There was no colour on it when I got it. The only markings I can find are:
6
A H
stamped on the side, one third from the bottom.
Sorry but the picture is not sharp.

Hi,
I am not sure this is a scorpion HESH projectile...the shape is wrong as is the driving band. I think this is an american 76mm HEP round (HE Plastic). The colour it has been repainted is correct for this round if american.

PS: if you still think it's british the colour should be a yellow nose & a black body with yllow stencilling.

I agree that the shape looks wrong for British 76mm HESH. With 76mm HESH the body of the projectile is slightly larger in diameter than the ogive. So if it were indeed British 76mm HESH there would be a slight projection just below the base of the ogive.

However there is no US Army 76mm HEP projectile that I have been able to find in either standard ordnance\ammunition manuals, or in Janes Ammunition.

So it is possibly US made. Don't the US use more markings on the grenade and drive belt. I have a 40mm bofors, US made and the drive belt is full of markings.

Yes, the americans like to cover the driving band with loads of stampings, but only really on the smaller rounds. The driving band also looks like an american one.
