Hallo

I don't think it's a Gewehrgranate. I think it's an american 40mm HE-projectile (Bofors L/70gun), also called Sgt York. The fuze is missing. Can you give any dimensions? The length must be between 14-15cm (without fuze). I enclosed a picture of such a projectile, it's not 100% the same, but there exist a lot of variants.

Es handelt sich um eine 4cm Sprenggranate (Flak) ohne Kopfteil... Sprengstoff und Scharfer Bodenzünder der Leuchtspur sind noch vorhanden.
