I have THV rounds in pistol calibres, but also in 5.56x45.
Does anyone know of any results from realistic testing or combat use of the THV? Or know anything more about the 5.56mm?

Hi Tony,
the 5,56x45 ones are probably from South-Africa and are called Monad. All the Southafrican made ones are (or where) never licensed by SFM. There are several small firms (and PMP) in RSA producing THV-like bullets and loading them into several calibers. So you can find .44 Magnum, .40S&W, 7,62 Tokarev, .223 and AK47 ammo with this type of bullet.
SFM itself has never produced such calibers, except the 7,65Br, 9Luger, 38Special, 357 Magnum and experimentally the .45ACP.
Besides that, they started production of the JAP-bullet (very light bullets of conventional form -ranging around 3,6-4Grams-)
with nearly the same wound ballistics, but cheaper to produce.
As SFM is no longer existing, there was no one enforcing the patent rights on that bullet design, because the owner of the follower (SVET) had never the financially power to do so
Greetings

For real tests of the THV you may ask Dr.Philippe Regenstreif. The adress you do have in your ECRA-Rooster.

Von den umseitig angesprochenen Südafrikanischen THV (Eleminator) hier die Versionen in .357 Mag und .45ACP
Found some items,
Cut of a 9mm amd a .45 acp THV

Mauser
Der Geschossknall der 9mm ist penetrant! Durfte vor einigen Jahren ein paar davon durch eine Schallgedämpfte MP5 jagen. Auf 25 m durchschlug sie gerade eben noch einen NVA Helm.
