Cutaway model of a Dutch manufactured 3,7cm High explosive shell for the revolvergun or Sloepenkanon (Longboatgun). The projectile is made of cast iron and it is filled with black powder. The fuze used is the "schokbuis No.5 marine" impact fuze No.5 navy, a brass impact fuze. The firing pin in this fuze exists of a wooden pin in which a steel pointed pin is screwed. It is pressed tightly in the fuze body. Upon impact it is hammered into the firing cap (red) below it. The main difference with non Dutch H.E. shells is the narrow upper loose drivingband. The base stamp on the cartridge is PATR-FABRIEK 19 Hembrug (rest of base stamp with exact year gone) and it can be dated to the start of the 20th century.
