I have had these cases for a long time but do not know what gun they are for or what the shells would be like. Can anyone help please?

no.1 is calibre 50mm x 462R, straight case with headstamp PATRONENFABRIK KARLSRUHE V 1906 M with crown over it.

no.2 is calibre 50mm x 332R bottle necked case with headstamp POLTE MAGDEBURG III 1917 M with crown over it and also stamped F.V.STUCKE in 3 places.

no.3 is calibre 47 x 382R necked case with headstamp BERNDORF 2 1897 and crown symbol.

no.4 is calibre 47 x 384R necked case with headstamp GR for G ROTH dated 1914 10.

cases no.3 and 4 are very similar and look like Hotchkiss aor Nordenfeldt cases similar to the British 3pr.

Thanks Charley777,

case no.1 does have a rim dia of 64mm so thats identified as is no.2.

the last two cases could fit lots of countries guns as it seems the 47mm Hotchkiss or Nordenfeldt was very popular just chamber lengths varied slightly possibley due to driving band style.

My interest is mainly British naval up to the end of WW2 but want to identify things I've collected that are similar from other countries.

Yes i did wonder about the 1897 case...
the French cases i mentioned have a rim diameter of 76mm (same as the Mle.1935 47x194R )...which is larger than all the other 47mm cases for which i have dimensional data (about 18).
