Hier mal eine von mir restaurierte 3,7cm Flak 18 Sprenggranatpatrone. Zünder ist ein 3,7cm Kopf. Z. Zerl. Pv.

Das Teil ist natürlich DEKO!

-1q Nice one. Can you write down the original text. I also restored one but I don't know if I used the correct text for it. I found it in a US army manual from just after the war.

Printed the text on a paper with the computer. Taped a thick sticky plastic over it and cut out the text with a knife. Then I sticked the plastic on the round and painted it with a brush. I used a thick kind of black paint. So that it didn't leave any remains under the plastic. The only problem is then that the layer of paint is a bit thick.

Did you copy the text from a original?

I´ve done it only with the printer, but explaining it here in my bad english is too hard. Can you Read german? The method i use work´s very well but when you are finished with the text you have to paint the whole bullet with some clear paint because the printer ink won´t dry completely.

Deutsch ist kein problem aber when ich alles in deutsch schreiben muss.......

Na dann, Also erstens sollte man sich den zu druckenden text erstellen, dann in einem beliebigem Grafik Programm spiegeln, den gespiegelten text druckt man dann einmal aus und klebt dann auf die bedruckte stelle etwas breites klebeband, ich nehm da so paketklebeband, wenn man das getan hat bedruckt man das blatt nochmal, aber so das auf dem klebeband gedruckt wird, jetzt lässt man die tinte einfach trocknen bis sie gerade eben matt wird und schneidet dann grob die schrift aus (natürlich nicht die buchstaben) hat man dieses getan kann man die schrift einfach um den zu bedruckenden, lackierten gegenstand (geschoss) legen und dann ein bischen drüberreiben, so das auch alle stellen in kontakt kommen, dann zieht man das papier ab und siehe da das geschoss ist beschriftet.

Hoffe ich habe es verständlich erklärt....

Ach ja, man sollte erstmal auf einem lackiertem blech test drucke machen bevor man anfängt die richtigen sachen zu beschriften.

Das es funktioniert sieht man ja. :)

To finish the round i used lineseed oil ( i don't know if that is the correct english word). When it is dry it will leave a slightly brown finish. So it wil look older then it is.

Nur wie gesagt man sollte die tinte danach nicht berühren sondern nur einen tag lang antrocknen lassen und dann mit klarlack lackieren.

Oke, but after the clear paint I used the lineseed oil. It will take a few weeks to dry completly but when it is dry the colour looks a bit discoloured. It doesn't look as new. The oil leaves a slightly brown layer so that the paint looks older. It gives the round a "original" old look.

Did you used it on the round you showed here? Maybe i test it on my one, at the moment it doesn´t look very original.


To your other question about the text, yes it´s one from a original.

Yes I used it on that one. It will take a few weeks to dry completly but it only gets better with time. This one I did one year ago. It is also good against rust. Perhaps you have to add something to the oil to help it dry. I just can't remember the name. Perhaps you should first try it on another piece before you paint it on your best one.

Maybe i test it on the next one, this is my first and i won´t ruin it... Maybe you can add acetone to the oil but i think it would not be so good for the paint... It´s just an idea and i would never test it with acetone.
