Hi 18 pounder,
this is my small collection of ww1 ammo. I'm a collector of ww2-ordnance, so I have only these few rounds:
2 French AP rounds, a German HE and a big German 210mm case

Here are two pictures. The Grenades are normally in a display cabinet.

I have not much time to clean or restore some things of these.
In spring i will have time to clean and restore and my collection will grow.
At the moment my artillery fuzes are by a friend to restore.

@18pounder: I don´t mean that a collection has to be big. sometimes a small collection is much more interesting. :)

Of Course there is too much economic reasons to make that my passion too expensive ....but for now I`m prospering nice & easy:-)

Hello all, I am a new member and wanted to say hello. My collecting interests have been going all over the place, but first and foremost I collect WW1 grenades and artillery fuzes (mainly German). Looking forward to getting started. I'm trying to figure how to create an avatar using one of my pictures and any help greatly appreciated. I have built a mock WW1 trench in my basement to showcase my collection. Peace to all..Dano

Thanks for the nice compliment Bane. Pictured is a French WW1 F1 grenade and a French WW1 Citron Foug grenade. I just finished the restoration today. Both came to me as relic bodies in a trade deal. Both bodies, after cleaning and frag groove re-defining, I painted with brush on slate blue acryllic, then sanded with well worn 100 grit paper for the aging effect. The F1 had the fuze collar but I made the brass part and button from scratch. On the Citron Foug, I kind of slopped a fuze together, but intend to make a better fuze as time permits. I prefer to keep an aged look as can be seen. Anyway I was pretty happy with the results..Best to all...Dano

Hi dano,
so pleased you joined.Anyone that doesnt know this guy and is into ww1 stuff will love his posts and will soon realise he's a real gentleman and a real asset to this site!
Dano, can we have a picture of your mock trench for starters?

Regarding avatars, its the same as the other forum we like using. The procedure is exacly the same mate.Go on user c.p. and edit your image using the editing funtions down the left hand side of your screen.

Ive been trying to add stuff that has been osted elsewhere before, but it takes so much time to do!
warm welcome and warm regards,i'm sure you will find this site usefull as it has a section on ww1 and is full of information:)

Doug
p.s. Der Felgraue and Grapeshot are on here too.

Hi dano and welcome to this fine place here :)
Hi Jens, Good to be here. I have asked this on another forum but here goes. On the left is an m1913 German WW1 baby discus grenade, on the right I think is a practice baby discus. It is the same size as the baby discus. It is a one piece casting and hollow. Someone suggested it may have been a film prop. I think it is a practice unit, because very few people, especially the film folks know of the existance of the baby discus, and when they do show German grenades in a film 95% of the time it is the stick grenade. What do you think? Dano
