Cutaway model of a Yugoslav PMR-2A stake mounted, trip wire activated anti personel mine. The mine body is made of cast iron and prefragmentated on the outside. In top of the mine a threaded hole is drilled in which a black plastic adepter cap is screwed. In this cap, the pull fuze UPM-2A or pull & flare fuze UPM-2AS is placed. In case of the UPM-2AS fuze the firing pin that activates the flare is the smaller firing pin, placed in a hole in the larger diameter firing pin that activates the mine. Between the two opposite firing pins a pressure spring is placed. When pulling the trip wire pin out, the smaller flare pin will be released just prior to the larger diameter mine firing pin, so enshuring the flare is launched just prior to the mine exploding.

Data for the PMR-2A mine :
Length mine body : 132 mm
Diameter mine body : 66 mm
Weight mine : 1700 grams
Explosive charge : 100 grams standard TNT demolition charge.
Activation pull force : 3 kg

The mine is found in mainly found in the former yugoslav area’s, especially Bosnia-Herzowgina.

DJ, you may think of exchanging the cal. 4 cartridge on the fuze for a Yugoslav one which was anodized grey with black lettering.

Hi X, this was the cartridge placed on the fuze when I got it. It took me quite some trouble to unscrew the ringnut (undamaged) that keeps the flare in place, so therefore I supposed it was the original cartridge.
Can you help me on the drawing and specifications of the original cartridge?
Can any of the members help me on the shellcase of an original cartridge?

Regards, DJH
