Hallo, I ask for help to ID this item.
It was found empty, the bottom could be screwed off, inside was a sheetmetal container.
The obturator ring was missing.
Diameter is 75mm. To get other maesurments will take some time.
Thanks for help.

that's a austro-hungarian "7,5 cm M.15/15a Granate", construction and fuze is similar to following 8 cm shell:

Thank You, how about the rod on the fuze?
It doesn't look like it was added later.

It was added later for sure. Also the shape of the fuze is not original, it has original not such a flat nose. I just wonder for which purpose it was converted. May be some type of bottle? It not looks like one of the common trench-art cigarette cutters.

Maybe a clock weight on a chain?

Than there would be two of them :-). One for the clock and one from the bell. I think it was found under the floor. So the purpose might be lost forever.
Any idea on the manufacturer?
Would the Granate 15 have a screw on the bottom?
With the metal canister I was thinking more of smoke or incendiary shell.

Thank You for the answers.

yes, all 7,5 cm M.15 Granate have a base screw (same construction as 8 cm M.05 Granate). It is needed to put the fragmentation rings and the cardboard explosive charge inside. The fragmentation rings and shell casing are made of steel, so the earlier common method of casting the shell around the rings could not be used.
